Dr Navina Evans CBE MBBS MRCPsych (Hon Prof)

UK health system leader and psychiatrist

Dr Navina Evans is a UK health system leader and psychiatrist with over two decades of clinical and executive experience across psychiatry, medicine and paediatrics. She most recently served as Chief Workforce, Training and Education Officer for NHS England, one of the world’s largest publicly funded health systems, where she led national strategy for workforce planning, education, training and productivity to support population health improvement at scale.

Previously, she was Chief Executive of Health Education England, overseeing the education and development of the NHS workforce, and Chief Executive of East London NHS Foundation Trust, which achieved two consecutive ‘Outstanding’ regulatory ratings under her leadership. She was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to health and care and is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Navina’s work focuses on sustainable workforce reform, equity and inclusion, staff wellbeing, and integrated service and financial planning. She is a strong advocate for co-production with communities and for recognising workforce planning as a global endeavour requiring ethical international partnership and shared learning across health systems.
